IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Everett G
Herndon Jr
January 3, 1946 – December 28, 2025
Everett G Herndon Jr. (Papaw), age 79, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on December 28, 2025, in Dade City, Florida. Born on January 3, 1946, in Montana, Everett lived a life marked by quiet strength, unwavering integrity, and deep devotion to those he loved.
A man of few words but great presence, Everett commanded respect simply by entering a room. His strength was matched by his patience and kindness—qualities that left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He was deeply loved and admired by many for the way he carried himself and the values he upheld throughout his life.
Everett shared his life with his beloved wife of 51 years, Carolyn. Together they built a family rooted in love and resilience. He was a devoted father to Sharon Schnitzler, Steven Small (Kimberly), Laura Holliday (William), Everett G Herndon III (Traye) (Luna), Matthew Herndon (Debbie), and Paulasue Kien (Susie) (Mark) and devoted grandfather to many grand children and great grandchildren. His role as "Papaw" was one he cherished deeply—a title that reflected not only his place in the family but also the warmth and wisdom he offered so generously. His family was his greatest joy.
In his leisure time, Everett found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a passion for American history and spent countless hours reading about past U.S. presidents and the nation's journey through time. His love of learning was matched by his appreciation for nature; he took great pride in working outdoors and cultivating vegetables in his garden—a space where patience met purpose.
Though words may fall short of capturing the full measure of Everett's life, those who knew him will remember a man whose quiet dignity spoke volumes. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the values he instilled.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire strength and kindness in generations to come.
