Eva Garza

July 3, 1940 – May 3, 2025

Eva Garza, 84, of Trilby, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on May 3, 2025. Born on July 3, 1940, in Santa Maria, Texas, Eva was the beloved daughter of Refugio and Benina Lopez. She was one of thirteen children, growing up in a lively home with four sisters and seven brothers.

On October 6, 1960, Eva married the love of her life, Domingo G. Garza. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and strong values. Domingo preceded her in death on June 27, 2024, after 63 years of marriage.

Eva was well known for her many years as a dedicated chef in the cafeteria at Pasco Elementary School. She took pride in feeding generations of students and was honored as SRP of the Year for her service. Her talents extended far beyond the kitchen—she had a passion for cooking, gardening, shopping, and most of all, spending time with her large and loving family.

Eva had a vibrant personality that made her unforgettable. She was funny, fiercely hard-working, headstrong, and deeply caring. Her home was always filled with laughter, good food, and the comforting presence of a woman who never shied away from showing love in her own unique ways.

She is survived by her children: Minerva Ennis, Ruben Garza, Elena Garza, Blanca Sanchez, Eddie Garza, Victor Garza, and Linda Guerrero; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and 11 siblings.

She was preceded in death by her husband Domingo; daughter Magdalena Hernandez; and siblings Ester "Nena" Aniceto, "Cheto" Lopez, Adan Lopez, Arturo Lopez, and Isabelle "Chavela" Chavez.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a graveside service at 1:00 PM at Floral Memory Gardens in Dade City, Florida.

Eva's legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will live on through the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
