Blommel, Eugene "Gene" "Papa", 83, of Dade City went to his heavenly home on April 2, 2018. He was a lifelong resident of Dade City. He served in the United States Army. Papa was an amazing one of a kind individual he was extremely devoted to his loving wife of 60 years and commitment to teaching the importance of family morals. He was very proud of his family and every story included a few special words expressing how proud he was. Words cannot express how deeply our amazing Papa will be missed.

Eugene is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Blommel, brothers, Charles and Francis. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Reba, 3 children, Stuart (Sarita), Della Haberle (Dan), Debbie Dowling (Warren "Jimbo"), 4 grandchildren: Kaleigh Thornton (Josh), Kyle Dowling (Rebecca), Nikki and Ami Haberle, 2 great grandchildren: Jake and Bentley Thornton, siblings, Ann Hays (Sammy), Ted Blommel (Birgit), Ann Hays (Sammy), Joe Blommel (JoAnne), Louis Blommel "Donna", Billy Blommel (Margaret), Louise Scharber (Allen) . In lieu of flowers, donations in his name to Gulfside Hospice Care, 2061 Collier Parkway, Land O lakes, FL 34639, will be appreciated. A Memorial Service will be held at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City, Florida on April 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM.
