Obituary

Esther Kjosa went from her loving husband's arms of over 56 years to her Heavenly Father's arms on Friday, December 4, 2020.Esther met her husband David Kjosa at Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri in 1963 and they quickly fell head over heels for each other and married the very next year. They had two sons, David Jr and Darin. The family lived in many parts of the USA and Europe as her husband served in the United States Army as a Chaplain.Esther worked and volunteered at several churches as they moved from place to place and enjoyed playing the organ for the congregations. She had lots of jobs over the years: Managing a Funeral Home with her husband in Springfield Missouri; Missouri Housing Development Commission Office Manager in Kansas City, Missouri; A very successful Real Estate Agent for Red Carpet Realty in Marina, California; Department of Defense Budget Analysis in Wuerzburg, Germany; and her and her husband even owned a Candy Shop in Carmel California. She was especially proud of the work she did as Management Analyst with the Resource Management Office of the 29th Area Support Group in Kaiserslautern, Germany. She was a career US Department of Defense (Civil Service) employee until she retired. She was a two-time breast cancer survivor. She had to fight it off once in 1988 and again in 2001. While in Europe she spoke to many different groups of women dealing with breast cancer to encourage them in their fight.

She had a strong desire for a college degree no matter how long it took her. Because she always put her family first it took her many decades and several different colleges, but her family was very proud that she graduated from Warner Southern College in Lake Wales, FL. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in Organizational Management. She was such an inspiration to others that Warner Southern College asked her to be the graduation speaker.David and Esther retired and settled in Wesley Chapel, FL in March 2001. They made Life Church their church home and served in several ministries. She believed in helping others and especially felt a strong desire to volunteer at Hospice care facilities to comfort those in their final hours.Esther really loved to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoyed a great game of Hand and Foot.Esther is survived by her husband, David Kjosa; brother David Jadwin (Linda); sons, David Kjosa Jr. (Jeanette) and Darin Kjosa; and two grandchildren; Daniel Kjosa (Andrea) and Nicole Kjosa. She is preceded in death by her Father Paul Jadwin and her mother Mabel Jadwin.A visitation will take place from 5-7 pm at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 11441 US Hwy 301 in Dade City, FL on Thursday, December 10, 2020.
