Obituary

Esther L. Kelley, 78, of Dade City Florida was called home to heaven December 28, 2018.

She had no children but loved those of her friends and family very much. She is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Wright of Cabot Pa., Laura (Kate) Faust of Cabot Pa., and Janet Leary of Valencia Pa. Also surviving are eight nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Esther has countless friends across the country that she loved as well.

She was preceded in death by her parents Glenn L. and Laura C. Hartzell Kelley, two sisters Alice Durci and an infant sister, two nieces Carol Bowser and Kathleen (Kittie) Proulx, one nephew George Burd, one great nephew Daniel E. Stitt IV, and one great great nephew Zackary D. Oyler. Esther loved genealogy and spoke fondly of her family waiting for her in heaven. She was eager to be reunited with them all.

Esther grew up on a farm and was no stranger to hard work. She could use power tools better than some men. She was certified in LP gas tank refueling, real estate, and did all her own vehicle maintenance. She loved to build things in her work shop when she was able.

Esther was a resident of Florida for over 50 years. She would always tease her Pennsylvania family that she was in "flip-flops and T-shirts" in January. She had many different jobs in her life time including owning a pet shop. Her jobs ranged from flower arranging to handi-woman. She loved crafting things from wood and painting. She had a talent for picking up something old and refurbishing it like new. Her biggest adventures took her and her Casita camper across the United States several times, some of those times were solo trips. She loved exploring Native American cultures and historical sites. On these excursions she made many friends who would welcome her to camp in their yards. She made friends quickly with her quick wit and lovable personality. She could tell you about every campground and highway that she explored.

Esther would love for you to know that she is safe and whole in heaven in the presence of her Lord and surrounded by those whom she missed dearly. She would love to be remembered by you the next time you stroll through a park, hike a nature trail, fish a stream, or summit a mountain. Plant a tree or broadcast some wildflower seeds in her memory. She loved her life and she lived it very well. She will be sorely missed. Until we meet again....
