Emma Jean Dewey, 72, died at her home on Saturday, June 27, 2015. She was born September 17, 1942 in Lake Butler, Florida and moved to Lacoochee, Florida in 1947 where she was a homemaker. She was the daughter of Roscoe & Donnie (Hodges) Parrish. She was a long standing, faithful and devoted member of Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marion Dewey and sister Hollie Mae Wright. She is survived by her daughter, Laura (Clay) Mickler and son, Michael (Shannon) Dewey; grandchildren Rachel Mickler, Rebecca Mickler and Garrett Dewey; sister Ruby Hodge and brothers Reverend Eldridge (Judy) Parrish, Amos (Karen) Parrish and Wayne (Wilma) Parrish and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the Hwy 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home where services will take place at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 with Rev. Eldridge Parrish and Rev. Marvin Strickland officiating. Mrs. Dewey will be laid to rest next to her husband at Chapel Hill Gardens.
