Elysia Mehry
Oder
March 17, 2004 – March 24, 2026
Elysia Mehry Oder, 22, of Zephyrhills, Florida, passed on March 24, 2026 far too soon.
Elysia was born to Elizabeth Carr and Donald Oder in Dade City, Florida on Wednesday, March 17, 2004. Elysia was the youngest of 3 children, with her older siblings being William Jenks and James Carr.
Elysia was an absolutely beautiful ray of light. She made a profound impact on all who knew her, including her friends. She attended and graduated from CES Academy in Zephyrhills. During her high school years, she made friends with Melodie Ferrin, Mary Ellen Crowley, Summer Arnold, Luzmarie Floyd, and Adriana Hatfield.
She loved nature, sunshine, and the night sky. She often preferred to blend in, but when she wanted to be seen; she was sunshine and stardust– an outward reflection of who she was. Elysia was as talented as a fairy, singing beautifully to express herself and trying her hand at various art forms. Painting, drawing, beadwork, and sewing were some of her hobbies. She was also into cooking, making coconut curry chicken as her signature dish. Everything Elysia touched was truly struck by magic, skillfully made and gorgeously completed.
One of Elysia’s greatest loves in addition to fairies and anime was butterflies. She marvelled at their metamorphosis and the way they could develop and flutter through life. Elysia, in her own way, lived as a butterfly: growing and changing, seeking to always become a better version of herself. She was steadfastly loyal to all who had the privilege to be part of her circle. Elysia was a person of great integrity, honesty, and trust. She extended her wings to all who needed someone to lean on, always making people smile whenever they felt down. She lived colorfully as well, dyeing her hair shades of red and loving a rainbow of hues.
Elysia was quirky and silly, while simultaneously being polite and sincere. She was resilient, powering through life’s difficulties and enduring. She spread her imagination and creativity along the way, leaving whimsy in her path. She was truly an amazing person, with the most caring, kind, loving, supportive, and genuine soul.
Elysia is survived by her parents Elizabeth Carr and Donald Oder, her siblings: William Jenks and James Carr, a plentiful amount of good friends, and others including her most beloved furbaby: Mr. Nibbles.
Elysia is what she loved most: glitter. Even though she has passed, you’ll find that shimmering personality of Elysia in everything from sewn fabric to the brush stroke of a painter. She has spread her impact through so many lives and experiences with her sparkle, and it will never go away. Elysia was a ray of sunshine, and her warm light will be dearly missed.
A service will be held for Elysia at a later date.
