Ellen Garvansites age 88, of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.

Ellen was born in Rome, NY on July 5, 1937 to parents Kenneth and Ruth (Bedell) Bouton who preceded her in death, along with her sister Priscilla Mayhew Nelson and her beloved husband of 42 years, Julius Garvansites. She loved to tell the story of their first date where they discovered they share the same birthday.

Survivors include her brother, John Bouton, and her six loving children, Karen (Larry), Carol, Edwin, Jeff, David (Patty), and Mark. She also leaves behind several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She loved playing slot machines, but her favorite thing to do was travel all over the world. She has been on over 20 cruises, and her timeshare has provided her with many trips all over the U.S.

Ellen is also a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Zephyrhills. In her younger years she was extremely active in the church, volunteering many hours brought her great joy, especially visiting the homebound.

There will be a celebration of her life on her birthday in July. More details will be provided at a later date.

Arrangements are under the care of Hodges Family Funeral Home, 301 Chapel in Dade City, Florida.
