It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ellen Marianne Becker at the age of 79 on Tuesday, June 11, 2019. She was born in Germany and moved to the United States at age 11. She lived in Fauquier County for 25 years prior to retiring in Land O Lakes, Florida.After owning a number of picture frame shops she expanded her talents to gold leaf restoration. She later published an instructional book on the process Gold Leaf Application & Antique Restoration. Ellen will always be remembered by her hospitality, generous heart, free spirit, love of hiking and dedication to her pets and family.She is survived by her son David Purcell, daughter Laura Barrett, son in law Barry R. Barrett, granddaughter Alexandria Barrett, brother Fred Kraeuter and nieces Rebekah Collins, Samantha Kraeuter and nephews Darren and Erich Kraeuter.A celebration of her life will be at a later date.
