Elizabeth M. Peters ("Betty," maiden name Nolan), age 89, of Dade City passed away Monday, February 27th, 2023.

She was born on November 20, 1933, in Jerseyside Placentia, Newfoundland, Canada, to Patrick and Mary (Kelly) Nolan who preceded her in death along with siblings Lucy, Margaret, Geraldine, and William.

Survivors include children, James J. Peters (David Slaughter) and Donna Marie Smith (Timothy); grandchild, Stacy Smith (Gregg Cupstid); great-grandchildren, Amanda Rogers, Ashley Rogers, and Nathan Rogers; great-great-grandchild, Caroline Davis; and brother Rupert Nolan (Corrine).

She moved from Canada to the United States in 1956 after marrying her only husband and her childrens father, James E. Peters. She started out in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania, then onto Miami, Florida. The couple divorced after 12 years of marriage, and she became a single parent; she was a wonderful mother. She later lived in Tampa, Zephyrhills, and Dade City, Florida. She remained close friends with her childrens father until his passing in 2021.

She loved life and her family, she was a hard-working loving, sweet caring person to all. She loved having her family put on concerts at Woodale Mobile Home Park in Zephyrhills, where she lived for 27 years. She enjoyed watching "Judge Judy" and "Jeopardy" and loved to walk. She worked at various dry cleaners and thrift stores and loved her customers, and they loved her. She never learned to drive and got by on the public bus or walking. She liked to dress up no matter the occasion. A true lady!

There will be a gathering of family and friends at Hodges Family Funeral Home 301 Chapel, Dade City on Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 1-3 pm.
