ELIZABETH KRONE Elizabeth "Betty" Krone passed away on New Year's Day January 1, 2021 in Zephyrhills Florida. She was born on Easter April 20, 1919 in White County Illinois the daughter of Charles and Mary Reeder Nelson. Her Beloved Paternal Grandfather Alfred known as Pap, a Civil War Veteran who lived to be 100, insisted her name be Lillie because of her birth on Easter Sunday. Few knew her given name was Lillie as she always went by Elizabeth or Betty. She attributed her longevity to the age of 101 to the genes she inherited from that grandfather. She graduated Valedictorian of her High School class in Enfield, Illinois then studied to be a licensed beautician. She united in marriage with Lynn Hendershott August 19, 1938 and they resided on the family farm in White County, Illinois until moving to Lincoln, Illinois in 1957. There she was employed at Lincoln Developmental Center until her retirement and move to Zephyrhills Florida in 1978. Lynn Hendershott preceded her in death on Thanksgiving Day November 24, 1983. She married Walter Krone July 20, 1988 and he preceded her in death March 16, 1995. In addition to her parents, infant sister Lucille, and sister Caroline she was preceded in death by her son Larry Hendershott. She is survived by her daughter Sherrie Grisham (Ben) of Bradenton, Florida and Springfield Illinois, three grandchildren Heidi Buckley (Mike) North Aurora, Illinois, Eric Hendershott (Mary) Downers Grove, Illinois, and Jason (Amy) Hendershott Yorkville, Illinois: Grandchildren Ben Buckley, Paige Buckley, Ryan Hendershott, Tyler Hendershott, Ava Hendershott, and Luke Hendershott and her beloved "grand dog Piper". In addition she is survived by two stepsons Walter (Shirley) Krone and Gary (Toni) Krone) and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty studied piano as a girl, was gifted with the talent of being able to play "by ear" and was pianist for her church in Southern Illinois. She was a talented needle worker including quilting, sewing, crochet, knitting, and needlepoint gifting many of her creations to family and friends. She continued with her needlework until a month before her passing. Her other hobbies included playing shuffleboard, bingo, and never missing a Tampa Bay Rays baseball game on tv. She was a member of Zephyr Christian Church, Zephyrhills, Florida. Thru her son in laws active membership in the Masonic Fraternity she developed friendships with many Illinois Masons and their ladies and enjoyed attending their functions while visiting her daughter in Illinois. She appreciated and supported their charitable endeavors. In addition she valued education and urged young people to seek higher education. In respect for her values of assisting others in need and education per her wishes memorial contributions may be made to the Illinois Masonic Outreach Services 2866 Via Verde, Springfield, Illinois 62703 or the scholarship named for her daughter Sherrie Hendershott Grisham Scholarship at St. Johns College of Nursing, 729 E. Carpenter Street, Springfield, Illinois 62702. Cremation will be provided by Hodges Family Funeral Home, Zephyrhills, Florida with interment at Oakslde Cemetery, Zephyrhills, Florida,
