Elaine M. Lake was born November 30, 1921 in Cortland, NY to Charles H. and Nora Lockwood McHerron. She passed away on February 3, 2015 at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills. She is predeceased by her parents, her sister Louella, her husband Lyndon E. Lake, and her daughter Roxanna J. Forney. She is survived by her son James E. Lake; her grandsons Stephen W. Forney (wife Victoria), Lyndon J. Lake, and Edward J. Lake (wife Michelle); and her great-grandchildren Corey M. Hess (wife Samantha), Grace Elaine Elder-Lake, Conner Lake, Collin Lake, and Stephen W. Forney, Jr. She held many jobs over the years including working at Mr. Donut with her friend Elaine Zirbel. Her last job was in the Patient Registration department at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills. She was a life member of the Women of the Moose, where she held the distinction of being a Star Recorder, and a member of Elks Lodge 2731 in Zephyrhills. In recent years, she enjoyed spending time with her dog, Tiger, reading on her iPad, and dancing with her friends at the Elks Club to Hank Bontragers cover of Josh Turners Your Man, among other songs. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from 5:00 7:00 PM at the Hodges Family Funeral Home at 11531 Hwy 301, Dade City, Florida. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Hodges Family Funeral Home. This will be followed by a processional to, and a brief service at, Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. She will be interred next to her husband Lyndon.
