Elaine A. Christian
May 18, 1947 - June 30, 2025
Elaine A. Christian, beloved wife, mother ,grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at 78 after a long battle with leukemia and heart failure. Her loving and devoted husband, William M. Christian was by her side at their home in Dade City.
Born on May 18, 1947 in Bath Maine to Donald J. and Virginia B. Parent. She was the baby of the family and given the nickname "Lanie" with her sister Ginny Lunn and brother Donnie Parent. She fondly told stories of the fun summers that they enjoyed together camping at Sebago Lake as a family.
She graduated from Morse High School in 1965, met George Lee Taylor and raised two lovely daughters in Topsham, Maine; eldest daughter, Lisa Taylor and youngest daughter Michelle Bacheller. They continued the tradition of camping in the summer at Sebago Lake with the family, which now included the parents, siblings and all of their children. She enjoyed the quality time and a small town simple lifestyle.
Before she retired, Elaine was a CNA who helped the elderly, handicapped and many families throughout her career.
She relocated to Florida in 1987 and enjoyed this new phase of her life where she became affectionately known as Meme to her granddaughters, Amanda Gianikas and Hayley Wheeler and eventually to her great- granddaughters Elise Gianikas and Tegan Gianikas. They will always remember the fun adventures with Meme to the beaches, aquarium, parks and more. All the adventures seemed to include ice cream, her favorite treat.
She was a social butterfly who loved people and animals. She was a proud member of TOPS, the garden club, and church where she made valuable and lasting friendships along the way. She enjoyed shopping and festivals which became a special bonding experience, especially with her husband, William and step-daughters Tammy and Pat.
May her soul find eternal peace and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 8th, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City, Florida.
