In Loving Memory of Edward Francis Boyer

Edward Francis Boyer passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, at the age of 90. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, and faithful servant of God, Ed lived a life defined by kindness, humility, perseverance, and unwavering love for his family.

Born on December 28, 1935, Ed was the son of Edith and Francis Boyer. From an early age, he developed the quiet strength, strong work ethic, and compassionate spirit that would become the hallmark of his life. Those who knew him will remember him as one of the kindest men they ever met. Gentle by nature, he was slow to judge, quick to encourage, and always greeted others with a warm smile that made everyone feel welcome. No matter the circumstances, Ed chose gratitude over complaint, optimism over discouragement, and hope over despair.

Ed proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, a service he carried with great pride throughout his life. His love for America never wavered, and he considered it a privilege to have served his nation.

Following his military service, Ed enjoyed a long and dedicated career with Alcan Aluminum Corporation in Oswego, New York. Through years of hard work and dedication, he provided faithfully for his family before retiring to Zephyrhills, Florida, where he and his wife enjoyed the sunshine, built lasting friendships, and continued making treasured family memories.

On July 13, 1984, Ed married the love of his life, Theresa Marie Boyer. Together they shared 42 years of marriage built upon faith, commitment, laughter, and unconditional love. Their relationship was a beautiful example of steadfast devotion and partnership through every season of life.

Family was the center of Ed's world. His greatest joy came not from accomplishments or possessions but from the people he loved. Whether attending family gatherings, celebrating milestones, offering thoughtful advice, or simply being present when someone needed him, he had a remarkable way of making each person feel valued and deeply loved. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and a constant source of strength and encouragement to those closest to him.

Throughout his life, Ed faced numerous health challenges with extraordinary courage. Time after time, he met adversity with quiet determination, grace, and dignity, never allowing difficult circumstances to diminish his faith or his positive outlook. His resilience became an inspiration to everyone around him.

His Christian faith was the cornerstone of his life. It guided his decisions, strengthened him during difficult seasons, and shaped the compassion, generosity, forgiveness, and humility for which he was so well known. Rather than simply speaking about his faith, Ed lived it every day through his actions and the way he cared for others.

Outside of his family, Ed had a lifelong love of baseball and was a devoted Tampa Bay Devil Rays fan. He enjoyed cheering for his team, following each season, and sharing the excitement of the game with family and friends. Yet even his love of baseball always came second to the people he cherished most.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Edith and Francis Boyer; his beloved son, Michael Boyer; his cherished daughter, Tracy Dahn; his son-in-law, Mark Medon; and four of his five siblings.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Theresa Marie Boyer; his loving children, Mark (Rhonda) Boyer, Kimberly (Bruce) Hyde, Mary Medon, Kelly (Alberto) Dominguez, and Molly (Ken) Goodrich; his brother, James (Peggy) Boyer; along with his treasured grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and many dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by knowing him.

While Ed would never have considered himself extraordinary, those who knew and loved him know otherwise. His legacy lives on in the countless quiet acts of kindness he performed, the encouragement he freely gave, the unwavering support he offered his family, and the example of a life lived with faith, integrity, humility, and unconditional love.

His smile will be remembered. His kindness will be deeply missed. His faith will continue to inspire. His love will remain with all who knew him forever.

Military honors and interment will take place at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, where Ed will be laid to rest 11 AM Friday August 14, 2026 among his fellow veterans. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a charity of your choice in his loving memory.
