Mr. Edward J. Ballas, passed away at age 93 on January 29, 2019 in Zephyrhills, Florida. He was born on February 26, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio to his late parents George and Elizabeth (Komar) Ballas. Ed served in the Army in World War II from 1943 to 1945, and retired in 1991 from Hillsborough County Schools working as a High School Principal. Ed is preceded in death by his wife Jane Ballas, his daughter, Kimberly; 6 brothers, and 3 sisters. He is survived by his daughters, Kristene, husband Bruce Manning, Lynn, husband Ed Plazewski; grandchildren, Daniel, wife Anna, and Matthew Manning, Adam, Jonathan, and Elizabeth Plazewski; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, and Dillon Manning. Visitation will be on Thursday, January. 31 from 9:30 to 10:30am at Hodges Family Funeral Home 301 Chapel. Followed by a funeral service, officiated by Bruce Manning, at 10:30am. The burial will follow at 12:30pm at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. Arrangements by Hodges Family Funeral Home 301 Chapel, Dade City, Florida.
