Obituary

Eddie L. Young passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2015, surrounded by his wife of 47 years, Judy Young and daughter Kelly Partain. Eddie was born in Louisa, Kentucky, August 20, 1936, and was preceded in death by his parents, Ira Sherman Young, killed in action in World War II, and his mother Ovoca Mae Young. Eddie is survived by his loving wife Judy; children, Karen Bramley (Doug), Kimberly Midea (Samuel) and Kelly Partain (Daryn); brothers Gary Young (Beulah), Kenneth Young (Sharon); and grandchildren Megan Partain, Jordan Bramley, Alyson Partain, Jacob Partain, Rachael Midea and Emily Midea; mother-in-law Enid Shand; brother-in law Philip Shand (Leslie) and nieces, nephews and extended family. Eddie served two years in the Air Force Reserve and then spent over 40 years with Allis Chalmers/ITT AC-Pump. Eddie was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. He was active in bowling and was inducted into the East Pasco Bowling Hall of Fame in 1998. Eddie coached youth bowling for many years. After retirement, Eddie and Judy enjoyed many years of extensive travel - having visited all 50 states and numerous countries while spending time with family and friends. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. We were so blessed to have him in our lives and take comfort in knowing that he is now in the arms of God. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2015, from 5pm-7pm at Hodges Family Funeral Home 301 chapel. A memorial gathering will be held on February 23, 2015, at 10:00am Hodges Family Funeral Home 301 chapel, Dade City, Florida. Flowers or donations to Moffitt Cancer Center in his memory will be accepted.
