Dr. Roger Dean Jacobs, 85, a resident of Zephyrhills died peacefully at home with his family on Wednesday, March 29th, 2023. Dr. Jacobs was born April 23, 1937 in Decatur, Michigan. He earned his Ph.D. in Poultry: Marketing & Management from Michigan State University. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. After living in Indiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, he and his wife, Barbara settled in Zephyrhills in 1981 where Roger worked for Zephyr Egg and as an avian physiologist and as a Poultry Extension agent for the University of Florida. A faithful parishioner of Dade City Christian Church, Roger is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara of 57 years, their son John and his wife, Emmy, of Zephyrhills, Joe and his domestic partner, Stacey, of Hudson, and his daughter Catherine Dunn and her husband, Jeff of Clermont, Florida. Roger has six grandchildren Paige, Jacob, Bailey, Christian, Aaron, and Dakota. He is predeceased by his brother Dr. Ray Jacobs, DVM formerly of Punta Gorda. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 17th 2023 at 6pm at Dade City Christian Church. Roger will be laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell on April 6th, 2023 at 11:30 am.
