SCHIFFBAUER, Douglas Eugene 54, of Dade City, Florida passed away on June 7, 2012. He was a college instructor for Pasco-Hernando Community College and St. Leo University. Born in Masontown, Pennsylvania to John Daniel and Louise Bowman Schiffbauer who are deceased. Survived by his loving wife of 27 years Judy, 2 children Jennifer (John) Mackey, Cami (Bill) Kinkead, brothers Danny (Cindy) Schiffbauer, Dennis (Veronica) Schiffbauer, Dwight (Kristine) Schiffbauer and 5 grandchildren. Douglas Graduated from Albert Gallatin High School, Pennsylvania State College (Fayette Campus) with an Assoc. in Arts, Fairmont State College with a Bachelors in Art Education and University of North Carolina Greensboro with a Masters in Fine Art. Married Judy in 1984 in Deer Park, Maryland. They made their home in Fairmont West Virginia until 1988. They moved to Lexington, North Carolina where he taught Art at North Davidson Middle School for the next 20 years. He also taught private art lessons including wheel-thrown pottery.He was a talented artist that was well known in Lexington. He created many of the Pigs in the City that are still displayed throughout the town. Deck the Hogs caroling pigs are displayed each Christmas in the Town Square.In 2008 he moved to Dade City, Florida where he continued as a popular educator and used his artistic ability for his beloved church, First Presbyterian of Dade City. He was an elder in the church.He was funny and witty and made friends everywhere he went. An avid Rolling Stones and Three Stooges fan. He loved Halloween and let his creative juices flow as he designed and made costumes for him and his best friend Steve Bertovich. He was an animal lover and leaves behind 2 cats, Mulder and Scully whom he loved dearly.An untimely death but a life lived to the fullest.
