Dorothy H. Johnson, 86 passed away April 19, 2022, in her Dade City home with family by her side. Dorothy was born on July 28, 1935 in Elfers, Florida and was raised primarily in Madison Florida. She is predeceased by her parents Walter B. and Josie W. Herndon and her two brothers WC and Norman Herndon. Soon after her graduation from Madison High School in 1953, she married her husband of 69 years, and they moved to Dade City where they raised their family. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Jack E. Johnson and her four children: Vicki Fenstermaker (Denny) of Valdosta, GA, Lynda Gutshall (David) of Bradenton, FL, Jack Johnson, Jr. of Zephyrhills, FL, and Christi McKinney (Chris) of Bushnell, FL. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Dorothys greatest accomplishment was that of being a wonderful wife and mother who loved her family very much and created a warm and inviting home for them. In her early years she devoted herself to raising her children to become good people. In her later years, she became an accomplished artist and crafter capable of creating anything she put her mind to. She was also a dedicated member of her local garden club. She passed her creativity and love of nature to all her children. The viewing will be held on Monday, April 25, 2022, at 10:00 AM to be followed by the service at 10:30 AM at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City. The burial will take place immediately following the service at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Dorothy loved flowers so the family welcomes the keeping of that tradition. However, if guests prefer to make donations in lieu of flowers, they are encouraged to donate to HPH Hospice of Wesley Chapel.
