Dorothy Gene Britton, of Wesley Chapel, Florida died peacefully Friday, Oct. 3 at the age of 81. Dorothy was born on August 15, 1933 to Henry and Dorothy Lowrey in Little Rock, Arkansas where she was raised and attended the Methodist Church.After the Korean War Dorothy met and married Harry Britton Sr. and they moved to Tampa, Florida in 1956 and had a son Harry Britton Jr. Dorothy worked in the Phosphate Industry for 45 years and retired from Cargill Industries. She was a passionate golfer and antique sports car enthusiast. Dorothy is survived by husband, son and daughter-in-law, two grandchildren and one great grandchild; her sister Bonita Clark and family; sister-in-law Natalie Lowrey and family; and sister-in-law Joan Smith and family.She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Dorothy Lowrey and brother, Henry Clay Lowrey Jr.A service will be held on Friday, October 10th at 10am at the Community United Methodist Church, 32606 Michigan Ave. located in San Antonio, Florida.An informal reception after the service for friends and family will be held between 11:00am and 1:00pm at Dempseys Steakhouse Restaurant, 5700 Saddlebrook Way, Wesley Chapel, FL. 33543 which is located inside the Saddlebrook Resort.All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dorothys Life.
