Dorman Hicks, 86, of Dade City, passed away Saturday, June 18th, 2022. Dorman was born in Dade City, Florida to JJ and Mary E Hicks (Story) on August 17, 1935. He graduated from Pasco County High School. He went on to become a surveyor and work with USDA Agricultural Research services. He was a key inventor of AMDRO Fire Ant Killer. Dorman was an Expert Mortar Man 211th Infantry Company A for 6 years with the Army National Guard of Florida, he was honorably discharged on February 9, 1960. He enjoyed farming, watching baseball, football, horse races, Church, and visiting with his family.
He is preceded in death by his wife: Mary Catherine Hicks; parents: J.J. Hicks and Mary E Hicks; Siblings: Willis Calvin Hicks, Mary Jim Herrison, Joan Filar, Myra Platel; Stepson: Thomas J Marshall.
Dorman is survived by his grandson: Joseph Marshall and his wife Kimberly of Spring Hill, Florida; Great-grandchildren: Breanna, Ashlyn, Seth, Sarah, Erin, Isabella, Gabriel, and Nathaniel.
\A service will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City, Florida. A visitation will take place prior from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow services at Dade City Cemetery.
