Doris Loftis, 88, was called to Heaven Wednesday, October 10th 2018. She is survived by: husband Bill, daughter Judy and husband David, granddaughter Jessica and husband Curt, sisters: Plina, Shirley, and Jean, brother Lynn, dogs Tosha and Snuggles.

Doris was born March 6th 1930 in Sparta, Tennessee to her parents, Nettie Myrtle and Joseph Sliger.

Doris and Bill happened to cross paths at a Clearwater Publix, and as they say "it was all downhill from there". They were married September 1st 1956. Nine months later their daughter Judy came into their lives. 28 years later, their granddaughter Jessica was born and they became the proudest grandparents you will find. The family may not have been as large as some but there was no shortage of love!

Doris kind spirt and welcoming personality ensured that she was beloved by everyone she met. If you were lucky enough to spend any time at her home, you know that you will never leave hungry. Southern hospitality (and southern cooking) were a large part of the Loftis home and Doris was at the center of it. Many of the families most treasured memories were made in the kitchen.

Doris and Bill made their home in Crystal River FL. Doris spent her free time line dancing, clogging, and sewing. There wasnt anything Doris couldnt make (or fix) with her crafting abilities. She loved being outdoors and gardening was here passion! Colorful flowerbeds adorned all corners of the home and added a welcoming feel when arriving for a visit.
