Donna Mae (Nelson) SahajdackDonna Sahajdack went to join her Heavenly Father on March 13, 2015 at her home in Zephyrhills, Florida with family at her side. Donna was born October 24, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan to Clyde and Dorothy Nelson. She will be missed for her quick wit, competitive spirit, generous heart and love of her family. Donna was a dear friend and fierce card player who loved to bake and spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchild, as well as her children. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Sahajdack, Jr., her parents, two brothers, a sister and a granddaughter. She is survived by sons Randy Sahajdack (Merri Jo) and John A. Sahajdack (Melissa); daughters Linda Pechota (Don), Susan Hodgman (Steve) and Lisa Bressler (Bryan); thirteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends in Florida and Michigan. Donna loved living in Florida, loved her Florida home, and had no remorse about leaving behind the snow and cold of Michigan! She and John, her husband of 57 years, began coming to the Zephyrhills area in 2003, purchased their first Florida home in Zephyrhills in 2005 and had been Florida residents since. Once settled, they made friends quickly. Card playing, bingo, dining out, and trips to the theater were favorite activities. Donna also enjoyed working on various crafts, and family and friends were frequent recipients of her handiwork. She particularly enjoyed creating items which made childrens lives happier and generously donated these items to children at local hospitals. A memorial service will be held at 11:30am, Friday, March 27 in the Chapel at the Hodges Family Funeral Home (State Road 54) with visitation at 11:00am. A memorial service in Michigan will be held in mid- April. Donna will be laid to rest with John at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
