Donald D. Ward, 68, of Dade City passed away on May 7, 2014 at Gulfside Center for Hospice Care in Zephyrhills, FL. He was born on January 14, 1946 to Bessie Akers in Baltimore, MD.Donald was a veteran of the US Army, having served in Vietnam, earning 2 Bronze Stars among many other medals. Donald was a longtime member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local #193, Baltimore, MD, the Seaman's International Union, the American Legion, the Pythagoras Masonic Lodge, and the Friends of Bill W. He is survived by his wife Elaine Hubbs Ward of Dade City, FL; daughters April & Stacey Ward of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren: David Lee Towers Jr and Alayah Largent of Baltimore; sister Betty Scheufele and brother Edward Ward both of Baltimore. A visitation will be held May 14th from 11:00 to 12:00 at Hodges Family Funeral Home 301 Chapel in Dade City, with a funeral service at 12:00 pm. Donald will be interred at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association or to Gulfside Center for Hospice Care.
