Donald Wayne Terry, 88, of Zephyrhills, was born on December 18, 1930 in Hamden, NY to the late Newton C. and Hildred Biedekapp Terry. He passed away on March 9, 2019 in Zephyrhills, FL. Don grew up in the Hamden area and attended Delaware Academy and Central School in Delhi, NY where he excelled in baseball, basketball and football. He married Elinor L. Hebbard on December 9, 1949 in Delhi. His employment included working as a Machinist at the Scintilla in Sidney, NY, a Commercial Truck Driver for Matthews Brothers and for Wickham Sales and Service of Delhi and retired in 1993. Don was an avid golfer belonging to the Delhi College Course for many years. He also enjoyed entertaining and cooking for his family and friends. He is predeceased by his brother Reginald Terry. He is survived by his wife, Elinor of nearly 70 years; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Terri B., and sons, Philip of Delhi and Douglas W. of Zephyrhills, Fl. He is also survived by his much loved grandson, Chadwick and wife Roxanne Terry of Hamburg; and three great grandsons, Chasen, Bryce, and Gabriel and one great granddaughter, Gwendolyn. Also surviving are his sister-in-law, Joyce Terry of Texas and many nieces and nephews. Don is also survived by a very special couple, Jack and Lynn Garner and their family.Donations made be sent in Don's name to the Delhi Fire Department in Delhi, NY. Burial service will be held this summer at Woodland Cemetery in Delhi for family and friends.
