Obituary

Donald Ray Evans, 83, of Wesely Chapel passed away peacefully with his family by his side on October 13, 2025 at AdventHealth Wesley Chapel. He was born February 1, 1942 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Gilbert and Hazel Evans and stepmother, Daisy

Donald served in the US Army for 22 years including two tours in the Vietnam War. After his retirement from the Army, he went to work for the US Postal Service for 23 years. During that time, he was known as "Mail Man Don" in his neighborhood. Donald was a very loving and caring person. He was always there for his family. He loved spending time with his granddaughter, going to the casino, playing bingo, blackjack on his computer, and doing word search books. Doanld also loved traveling up to West Terre Houte, his hometown to visit family and friends. While he was there, he would go Morrell mushroom hunting and get a tenderloin at a local bar that his parents once owned. He was the most funniest person with the biggest heart. Anyone who knew him thought very highly of him. He will be greatly missed by all his family.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Edward, Shirley and Katherine; his beloved wife of 45 years, Rosemary.

Survivors include, daughter, Karen Evans; son, Thomas Evans; grandson, David Viers and granddaughter, Rebeca Viers; siblings, Gibb (Flo) Evans, Edward (Linda) Evans, Shirley (Bill) Gaskin and Katherine Pennington.

He will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery
