Donald Luard Burge, 89 of Zephyrhills, FL, passed into the presence of his Savior on Friday, Jan 21, 2022, at Advent Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones, after a long illness. Donald was born in Erie, PA at Hamot Hospital, July 11, 1932, son of the late Earl and Greta Steadman Burge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Richard Burge, infant siblings Ruth, Martha and Harvey Burge and a great granddaughter Alyvya Hale. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Martha Holder Burge and daughters, Sandra (George) Hale, of Wesley Chapel, FL, Lori (James) Pitonyak of Erie, PA and Donna (Scott) Hudler of Erie, PA; Grandchildren, Jonathan (Michelle) Hale, Eric Hale, Justin (Jessica) Hale, Allison (Scott) Hellmann, Rachel Pitonyak (Tim), James (Meagan) Rosenthal, Joshua (Erica) Rosenthal, Daniel (Sarah) Rosenthal, Holly (Alan) Haibach and his brother Kenneth (Pat) Burge and many nieces and nephews. He graduated from West Springfield High School in 1951 and served in the US Navy during the Korean War as a fireman. Donald built 2 homes with his own two hands along with his wife and enjoyed wood working, shuffleboard, traveling, spending time with family and helping neighbors. He attended Grace Baptist Church in Erie, PA for many years. Donald worked for Nickel Plate Railroad, Springfield Township and Norfolk Southern Railroad, retiring in 1992.
