Donald R. Bruce Jr. 72 of Dade City lost his battle with cancer Tuesday Oct 3,2017. He was born in Millersburg, Ohio Oct 10, 1944 to Donald R. and Blanche Bruce Sr. He moved to this area 12 years go. He was as veteran of the US Army National Guard where he served as a firefighter in both Iraq wars and Bosnia. He was also a retired plant manager at the former Addressograph in Holmesville, Ohio. He loved bowling and golf. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Laura L. Bruce of 33 years, his five children Jamie (Nicole) Horn, Michael Bruce and Melissa(Troy) Fitzpatrick all of Ohio, Thomas (TJ) Bruce and Cody(Crystal) Bruce of Florida. And his close friend and cousin Carol A. Harris. He has 10 grandchildren. Mariya (Bobby) Bennet, Tyler Fitzpatrick, Rachal and Turner Horn. Jessica (Jeffry) Ackerman, Hailey, Erik and Alyssa Bruce, Christian and Blake Bruce. 4 great grandchildren Owen, Avery and Evelyn Ackerman and Ryker Bennet. Graveside services will be held Monday Oct 9th at 11 am at the Florida National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society and or the Florida Medical Oncology department. Of all his battles this has proven to be his toughest of which he fought valiantly. He was loved by many and will be sorely missed. There will be a Celebration of Life in Ohio at a later date.
