It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald J. Blanchard, after a long battle with heart disease. He was a loving family man, and dear friend. He passed peacefully at The Rucki Hospice Care Center in Zephyrhills, Florida on the evening of June 6, 2023. Born on October 6, 1948 in Chula Georgia. Donald lived a life filled with love and devotion to his family and friends. Donald was the son of Daisy Mae Hill and John Julian Blanchard. He is survived by his daughter, Virginia Dorman, who brought him love and laughter. He was predeceased by his daughter, Katie Blanchard, whose memory remained close to his heart. Donald was also a grandfather of 4. He was predeceased by his grandson Troy Blanchard who will forever hold a place in his heart. He is survived by his loving granddaughter Paige James, and his pride and joy, great granddaughter Freya James, and his loved grandchildren Xavier and Haley Porteus. Donald is survived by 5 brothers and sisters, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service to celebrate the life and legacy of Donald J. Blanchard will be held on June 25, 2023, at 2:45 - 3:45 PM at Hodges Family Funeral Home and Cremation Center at 36327 SR-54, Zephyrhills FL. Friends and family are invited to come together to share a memory and remember the gentle man that Donald was and to honor the impact he had on the lives of those who knew him. Donald will be greatly missed by the many whose lives he touched. His warm presence, unwavering support, and selfless love will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him. May he rest in peace.
