Diane Bates, 63, of San Antonio, Florida passed away July 16, 2021 peacefully in her sleep at home. While Diane battled many complications as the result of a stroke, her love and spirit never waivered. She was born October 23, 1957, in Nashville, Tennessee to Mr. Jack Jones and Mrs. Joyce Jones. She was a dedicated homemaker; finding joy and inspiration in decorating, landscaping, and remodeling her homes. Diane, having never met a stranger, had the biggest heart and showered everyone with love. She extended her love to any and every person that came into her home, wanting her home filled with love, joy, and laughter. While she was the biological mother to one son, Philip, many considered her their surrogate mother; she did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was, ensuring that every child who crossed her threshold was safe, happy, and healthy. Diane was also a second mother to her step-daughter, Stacy, always caring for her as her own child. Young at heart, Diane was always up for an adventure enjoying trips with her husband, son, family, and friends. Most of all, she was an exceptional mother, daughter, sister, and wife; always sacrificing her time to care for others.
She is preceded in death by her father: Jack Landon Jones and brother: Brian Landon Jones.
Diane is survived by her husband of 40 years: Philip Bates Sr.; Mother: Joyce Jones of Old Hickory, TN; Son: Philip Bates Jr. (Lynette) of Cincinnati, OH; and Daughter: Stacy Faulkner (John) of New Orleans, LA.
