Obituary

Chavez, Delfino "Ebo" Anthony, age 88 passed away peacefully under the care of hospice, Friday, December 13, 2024. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lauri Leahy Chavez. He is also survived by his former wife and the loving mother of his five children, Carolyn Chavez. Del was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus Chavez and Maria Garcia, sisters; Angela Muniz, Mary "Jessie" Martinez, Rosalia Llanos, and Guadalupe Cruz, brothers; Robert and Henry Velasquez. Del is survived by his children; Christina (Thomas) DeFouw, Diana Letsch, Barbara Olson, Del (Laura) Chavez, and Steven Chavez. Del was the loving grandfather to Michael Letsch, Michelle (Reid) Kruszewski, Christopher Olson, Victor Olson, Maria Chavez, Anthony Chavez, Thomas Chavez, and Georgia Chavez, and great grandfather to Brooke Kruszewski. Del graduated from St. Frederick's High School in Pontiac, Michigan and received an Associates degree from Oakland Christian College. Del was a proud Veteran serving in the 1st Armored Division of the US Army. He later became a long time member and past Exalted Ruler of the Pontiac /Waterford Elks lodge where he served many charitable groups, including Veterans. Starting in the mailroom, Del retired as a Buyer from General Motors Truck and Bus in Pontiac, Michigan. Del enjoyed playing, coaching, and watching all sports, especially golf, baseball, basketball, football, and hockey. Del enjoyed retirement in sunny Florida, with many good friends and golfing buddies. He will always be fondly remembered as " one more, no more" as they celebrated the 19th hole.
