Debra Helen Woods passed away on the afternoon of August 13, 2026 at the age of 73 in Welsey Chapel, Florida.

Debra was born in Tampa, Florida to parents Jack and Helen Couch on February 11, 1953. She also grew up with a brother, David. In Tampa, she attended high school and earned her diploma, continuing to acquire her AA with HCC. Debra enjoyed living here, even marrying her husband, Larry Woods, in a ceremony on October 24, 1981 in her home city of Tampa. Together, the two welcomed a son, Jeremy, into the world in 1983.

Debra built a career on telephone communications with Verizon as an equipment technician, eventually retiring from the company. She was dedicated and took pride in her work.

For Debra, some of life’s greatest joys came from God’s creatures and quilting. Keeping herself busy with hobbies like making blankets and watching birds eased her struggles with her lifelong illness of multiple sclerosis. Although she experienced hardship with her disease, she never complained and remained resilient.

Debra is survived by her husband, Larry Woods; her brother, David Couch (Lisa); and countless other loving family members.

There will be an intimate graveside service on Thursday, August 20 at 10:00 A.M. in Chapel Hill Gardens cemetery for Debra.

Debra was deeply loved and will be incredibly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
