DAVID B RUFF "BIG DAVE"

David B Ruff, 61, of Wesley Chapel, FL joined his Lord and Savior after passing away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on June 1, 2023. David was born in Gary, IN on July 2, 1961 to the late Joseph and Annabelle (Brunker) Ruff. David was a graduate of Merrillville Sr. High School class of 1981. He was Self Employed most of his career in Building Maintenance and Management. He married the love of his life Cynthia (Lach) Ruff in 1987. Soon after welcoming his only Son, David B Ruff Jr. David was a man of Christ and was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Wesley Chapel, FL. David Loved his church family very much. He was an avid golfer most of his life, achieving several trophies and plaques. He loved playing golf most of all with his father and his son David. He was proud of his only "hole in one" at Gleason Park, Gary IN. He loved fishing, boating and just being with friends and family.

David is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia (Lach) Ruff, Devoted father to David (Olivia) Ruff, Proud "PeePaw" to his beautiful grandchildren, Naomi, Landon, and Jolene. Loving Brother to Pam (Ruff) Larry Leman, Joseph (Juanita) Ruff. He was a Loving Brother-in-law to Carol (Lach) Doug Kokotovich. Loving Uncle to many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He leaves his trusty companion, always by his side, Athena.

David is proceeded in death by his parents, Joseph and Annabelle (Brunker) Ruff, Grandmother, Inez Braun and Grandparents, Theodore and Estle Brunker. In-Laws John Pauline (Kish) Lach, Sister-in-law Cheryl Lach, Niece Rebecca Mounts and his two special doggies, Cookie and Cleo.

David had a private service at the First Baptist Church of Wesley Chapel on Saturday, June 3, 2023 attended by several family members, friends and church family

Hodges family funeral home was In Charge of his final arrangements.
