David Lamar Oliver, 67, of Dade City passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021, at AdventHealth in Dade City, FL after a valiant battle with COVID-19. David was born on October 23, 1953, to his loving parents, Lamar and Margaret Oliver in Dade City, FL. David graduated from Zephyrhills High School in 1971 and went on to join the Ironworkers Local No. 397 in 1991. David loved to play baseball with his cousins in his younger years and had a lifelong love of fishing and the outdoors. In his youth, Davids love for music began when he, his parents and sister would sing in church and often be invited to travel to churches around the community singing his favorite gospel songs. This love continued throughout his adult years when he helped to form the Withlacoochee River Boys. His love for God, family and friends was very evident throughout his life. He was known as a jack-of-all trades, loved to work on cars and was always answering the call of anyone in need. David was preceded in death by his father, Lamar Oliver, and mother, Margaret Oliver of Dade City, FL; and his grandson, Gage Daniels of White, GA, and brother-in-law, Ron Haltom of Jesup, GA. David is survived by his sister, Kathy Haltom of Jesup, GA, daughters Julie Daniels (Mike) of White, GA, Stacey Oliver of Dade City, FL, and son Shawn Oliver (Julie) of Lewisville, TX; five grandchildren, Raven, Raine and River Daniels; Katherine Whyte; and Logan Oliver; niece Leanne (Kevin) Leonard; great-nephew Jaxon, great-niece Roni Grace and a host of cousins and friends. Visitation will be held at Hodges Funeral Home on Hwy. 301 in Dade City, FL on Tuesday, September 7 from 6:00 to 8:00pm. The service will be held on Wednesday, September 8 at 2:00pm at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Richland Baptist Church Cemetery.
