David E. Johnson, age 66, of Dade City, Florida, and formerly of Lima, Ohio, passed away on June 17, 2025, in Tampa, Florida.

David was born on April 28, 1959, in Lima, Ohio, to Nelson "Butch" and Sharon Johnson. He was a 1977 graduate of Lima Senior High School. David proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a veteran of Desert Storm. Following his military service, he worked diligently until his retirement.

On May 20, 1988, David married the love of his life, Debra Ansley, in Lima, Ohio. Together they shared a life full of love, laughter, and family. David was a devoted Ohio State Buckeyes and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, camping, and fishing.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Debra Johnson; his children, Ashleigh Ehrnsberger (Ryan) and Ryan Johnson (Lauren); and his grandchildren: Zackery, Landon, Addyson, Cooper, and Gabriella. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Brett Ansley (Catherine).

He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson Jude, and his in-laws Joe and Kay Ansley.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on July 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lima, Ohio.

David will be remembered for his dedication to family, country, and his unshakable spirit.
