Drake, David Roby Sr., 89, of Dade City, FL, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2014 in Zephyrhills, FL, under the care of Gulfside Regional Hospice. He was born June 27, 1925 in Blairsville, GA to John Carl & Maude Bateman Drake. David survived by his wife of 66 years Voda Lee Drake; sons: David R. Drake, Jr. (Betsy), James Michael Drake (Yani); grandchildren: Donnalea Hutchinson (David), David R. Drake, III, Kary Lee Drake, Katherine Allshouse (Andrew), Cameron Drake, Trevor Drake, Chance Drake, Michael Yan Drake; and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law; Kelly Douglas and Terri Thomas Drake.A veteran of World War II, David served in the U.S. Marine Corp. and fought in the Pacific Ocean theater. David was founder, owner and president of The Drake Corporation of Tampa, FL for 22 years. He was a founding member of the Refrigeration Air-Conditioning Contractors Association (RACCA) and a former member of Tampa Yacht and Country Club.Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City.
