David B. Burris, 62 of Dade City, FL, passed away in his home on Monday, August 23. David was born on November 19, 1958 to Glenn O. Burris and Phyllis R. (Dennis) Burris in Cambridge, OH and moved to Dade City in his 20s. David spent the majority of his working life as a delivery man, salesman, and warehouse manager for over 30 years at Dempsey Furniture, and also worked various jobs in mechanics and sales throughout his life. David was a thoughtful person who never hesitated to give his time or resources to anyone in need. He was fond of motorcycles, cars, sports, and good conversation and always found humor in all situations. David above all loved spending time with his family, brothers, and friends and he loved being Uncle Dave. David was the kindest person one could ever hope to meet, and there are no words to describe how deeply he will be missed. David was preceded in death by his parents, a niece, and two nephews. He is survived by his sister, Carla L.Cain of Chandler, AZ; three brothers, Curtis L. (Denise) Burris of Cambridge, OH; Joel S. (Carolyn) Burris of Caldwell, OH; and Bruce A. (Wanda) Burris of Humble, TX; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and great nephews; and his extended family, Donald and Alfie Dempsey of Dade City, FL; Amanda Pitts (Jesse) of Zephyrhills, FL; Donna Dempsey of Philadelphia, PA; and Anne Gonyou of Dade City, FL. A memorial service will be held at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City, FL at a later date to be announced.
