Bright, David

Passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at the age of 80. It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Geraldine; his sons, David and Steve; his grandchildren, Cassandra, Cameron, Carter and Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.

As a Florida native, David spent his early years in a number of cities prior to finally moving to Zephyrhills with his family where he grew to call it home. He spent his forty year career in the communications industry working for GTE and Verizon. Early in his life, he proudly served as a Zephyrhills Volunteer Fireman.

David will always be remembered for his hard, honest work. He had a gift of working with his hands, and he often used that gift to help those in need. One of his greatest joys in life was fishing, and he could often be found on his boat sharing lighthearted stories with close friends. The wit that often influenced those stories was one of Davids iconic traits. It seemed as if his goal each day was to make someone laugh with a joke or a story, and he almost always accomplished that goal. A member of the Fellowship Bible Church, David showed the love of God in his care and devotion towards his family. We felt his consistent love and affection every day. He will be sorely missed and forever in our hearts.
