David E. Befort, age 81, of St. Joe, FL passed away peacefully on March 26, 2020 surrounded by his family. David was born on September 26, 1938 in Rochester, MN to Willard and Florence Befort and moved to this area at the age of 15.

David is survived by his wife, Peggy of 61 years; daughter, Terri (Bobby) Martin of St. Joe, FL; and granddaughter, Shelby Martin of Washington, DC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Befort and Florence Befort Frazee; brother, Richard Befort; and sister, Margaret Hoffman.

David retired from Withlacoochee Electric Coop as a Crew Chief in 2003 after 35 years of service. His interests were in antique cars, woodworking, and traveling. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

A Memorial Mass followed by a celebration of life reception will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gulfside Hospice, 2061 Collier Parkway, Land OLakes, FL 34639 or Sacred Heart Catholic Church building fund, 32145 St. Joe Road, Dade City, FL 33525.
