Dan Morgan, age 79 of Zephyrhills, FL passed away Sept. 23, 2026 in the care of Hospice in Lecanto, FL. He was survived by his loving wife Barbara.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Catherine Morgan.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Dan (Deb) Morgan, Scott Morgan, Rhonda (Mark) Boggs, Jeff Adams; and grandchildren; Ashley Morgan, Kaitlyn (Riese) Wygant, Hunter Martin, Shelby (Erik) Ruster, Dillon Boggs; and great-grandchildren, Kaysen Wygant, Collin Ruster, and Emerson Layman to whom he was affectionately known as "Poppy"; and his siblings; Betty Dietrich, Tom (Carol) Morgan, Barb Dillon, Sandy (Bob) Willard, Pat (Georjean) Morgan, and Mike Morgan.

Dan insisted on going to Michigan in August to see all of his family even though he was in distress, he said he needed to see them one last time.

Dan was a very devoted husband to his wife Barb, they enjoyed their retirement and made many wonderful friends. They played golf, went to casinos and bowled. In fact, Dan bowled a perfect 300 game. He loved all sports especially The Rays and the Lightnings.

Dan retired from the Asphalt industry in 2001 moving from Michigan to Zephyrhills, FL.

Joining the Moose Lodge and serving as Administrator, and Govenor. As a proud Moose Member he earned his blue jacket and was very proud. He sold 200,000 bags of candy to help with raising money for the Lodge. Everyone knew him as "The Candyman". He was an active member of Amvets Post 550 where he sold 50/50 and made many friends and lasting relationships.

He was in the U.S. Army where he served in Vietnam, He was a soldier who served his country proudly. He was subject to Agent Orange and died due to it.

Above all he will be remembered for the quiet ways he cared for others, the friendships he made and the love and joy he shared with his family.

Dan will be missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of life will be held at the Amvets Post 550 in Zephyrhills at a later date.
