Danise McMullen Garrels McGavin, 86, of Dade City, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Tampa General Hospital. She was native Floridian, born in St. Petersburg, Florida. She worked at Williams Fashion Center/Lunch on Limoges for the past 40 years. Danise sang with the USO in the '40's. She was active in the Hillsborough County PTA throughout the '50's and '60's. She also enjoyed Broadway musicals, big band music, and spending time at the beach. Danise was preceded in death by her parents, George and Rachel McMullen. She is survived by seven daughters, Darolyn Perez-Poveda (Gus) of Miami, Penny Lee (Johnny) of Riverview, Bonnie Futch (David) of Plant City, Robyn Jeffries (Jim) of Plant City, Jan Nelson (Gary) of Bradenton, Kerry Roys of Zephyrhills, and Wendy McLeod (Mark) of Wesley Chapel; one sister, Darolyn Weeks of Raeford, NC; and 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at the 5th Street Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home at 6 pm on Wednesday Feb. 22, 2012.
