Daniel Louis Saltsman III, 60, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at his Ridge Manor home surrounded by family. He was born January 31, 1957 to Daniel Louis Saltsman Jr. and Violet Cunningham Saltsman at the Air Force Base in Greenville, Mississippi. He spent his childhood in Birmingham, Alabama and relocated with his family to Florida in 1972 for high school and college. He graduated from Pasco-Hernando Community College and attended University of Florida and USF. Danny, known to his family and friends, had a favorite scripture that was the cornerstone of his life. "Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and attend to your own business and work with your hands" 1 Thessalonians 4:11 (NASB). Danny lived a quiet life in the home he built with his beloved wife, Rhonda. He was a gifted carpenter who built multiple family members homes, did remodeling projects, and crafted custom furniture. He was a dedicated reader and also enjoyed outdoor adventuring. He and Rhonda enjoyed fishing, boating, family camping trips, and scuba diving together. They relished finding unique artwork and gifts from local artists and discovering out-of-the-way places in the southeast. Danny had a gift of hospitality and could often be found exercising his quick wit and dry sense of humor as he manned the grill at any party. He served in several capacities at First Baptist Church of Dade City, including teaching a Sunday School class for many years, building relationships, and serving as a Deacon. He was preceded in death by his brother, Daryl, and his father, Daniel Jr. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Rhonda; two children, Rachel (Edwin Monzon) and Brian, two grandchildren, Alberto and Julius; his mother, Violet; siblings, Valerie (John Balogh), Derek (Brandi), and Vicki (Glenn Balogh).
