Daniel "Dan" Edward McGuinness of Zephyrhills was born September 8, 1948 in New York, NY. He lost a valiant battle with cancer on October 6, 2021. Dan was the third of nine children born to Mary and Ed McGuinness. Dan was a veteran of the U.S. Army and bravely served two tours in the Vietnam War as a young man. He was honorably discharged in 1972. Dan received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from

The University of Connecticut and his MBA from the University of South Florida. Dan worked most of his life for the IBM Corporation and was loved by his peers there. Dan loved Irish music and dancing, and could often be found at the local pub with his friends listening to Irish tunes. Dan was a historian and also deeply loved to write and recite poetry. Dan is preceded in death by his mother, Mary McGuinness, father, Ed McGuinness, stepmother, Anne McGuinness, and brothers Kevin, Michael and Patrick McGuinness. He is survived by his four children, Jennifer McGuinness, John McGuinness, Tim McGuinness (Melissa), and Katie Mears (Michael), their mother, Joann Cicalese, and his seven grandchildren, Tim Jr., Michael, Henry, Ava, Claire, Pearl, and Luke. He is also survived by his siblings Billy (Kathy), Neil (Kathie), Brian (Linda), Peggy, and Maura as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
