Daniel E. Filley, 57, of Dade City, Florida passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024. He was born November 14, 1966, in Tampa, Florida to Ward and Betty Filley. Daniel grew up with his siblings: Sheree Bracewell and Pam Filley. He was self - employed. Growing up, Daniel always enjoyed playing baseball and football; naturally he went on to coach his sons teams throughout his childhood, his son Cory was always his pride and joy. This love of sports continued through the generations; his grandson is currently playing baseball at the college level, Danny got so much enjoyment from watching him play. Danny loved swimming and eating watermelon with his granddaughter. We have had so many people reach out and tell us about the impact that Danny had on their lives, he always enjoyed spending time with the children in his life, some of those closest to him included: Christie, Nick, and Hannah. Danny loved the water so much, he lived on the lake. He would be out on the lake pulling, knee boarding, and tubing. He loved his boats; his favorite was named "Showtime". Being around the ones he loved was so important to him, he created a lovely space to entertain at his "Tiki Bar". He was always grilling out, he was a great cook. All of his friends and family would come out for birthday, baseball, and football parties. He loved to hunt and fish with his brother-in-law, fianc, and many friends. These friends know who they are, and how he loved them. His hunting nickname was "Hollywood". Danny loved his music and going to concerts. Danny was a great father, son, brother, grandfather, brother-in-law, father-in-law, and partner to his fianc. He had some very special friends and family in life, including the Hobbs family. He will always be loved and missed. He is preceded in death by his parents: Ward and Betty Filley; and sibling: Pam Filley; grandparents: Grandma and Grandpa Rippy, and Grandpa Robert Sumner. Danny was larger than life, he was a big part of so many lives. He stayed active, involved, and was the center of all the fun. Dannys memory is carried on by his children: Cory Filley (wife: Megan Filley) of Dade City, Florida; grandchildren: Cory A. Filley and Blakeleigh Filley of Dade City, Florida; sister: Sheree Bracewell (husband: Tom Bracewell); Fianc: Theresa Lovetro of Dade City, Florida; Cousins: The Sumner families of Dade City, Florida; beloved cat: Bailey; And all of his loving friends. There are too many to name but thank you for all the love and prayers. A celebration of life will take place on Thursday, June 6th, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City, Florida. After the service everyone is welcomed back to the house.
