Dane Cody Wyatt Prater, 25, of Dade City, FL, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2013. Cody was born May 5, 1988, in Zephyrhills, FL, to David Prater and Kimberly (Clark) Prater. Cody was a blessing and joy to everyone that knew him. He was a very loving soul with deep compassion for others that was easily recognized. But what this young man of only 25 years cared about most was his close relationship with his Lord and Savior. Jesus Christ. He is survived by his parents David and Kimberly Prater; his siblings Cassie, David, Jr. and Aubrey Prater; Grandparents Betty Jean Prater and Clifford and Laura Clark; 11 aunts and uncles Darlene and Mac McKendree, Dwayne and Jackie Prater, Danny Prater, Ron Clark, Cliff Clark, Jr., Jimmy Hendricks, Debra and John Tomes, and Caprice Clark-Seymour; and he had many cousins with whom he loved and grew up very closely with, some of which were his closest friends including Robert and Ryan Clark, Brent McKendree, Jason Prater, Joel Prater, Corrie Prater Birrou, Jarrod Prater, Lindsey Prater, Ashley Clark, Kayla Clark, Tim Saunders and Angel Tomes. A celebration of Codys life will take place 2pm Monday, August 12, 2013 at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
