Dan Layton Philmon 82 of Covington, GA died on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017 at his residence. He was born in San Antonio, FL on Oct. 31 , 1935 to Mr. & Mrs. Shellie & Alma (Jones) Philmon. He attended Dade City Grammar School, graduated from Pasco High School and the University of Florida, where he graduated with a degree in accounting. He was a proud U. S. Army veteran and a Rotarian. Dan is survived by his wife of 54 years Jeanette of Covington, GA, three children Danna Philmon, Greg (Julie) Philmon and Roger Philmon, three grandchildren Katie, Chris & C. J. Dan's life career was serving as a CPA. He was a partner in a firm with offices in several southern states. He served as chapter president of professional CPA societies in two states, as well as served on numerous executive and other committees. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 11:00 am Hodges Family Funeral Home, 5th Street Dade City, FL 33525.
