Dale Leroy Bruce, age 67, passed away peacefully at home on May 26, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones and his special girl [his dog] Zoey.

Born on May 16,1959, in Saginaw, Michigan. Dale was the son of Jack and the late Donna Bruce. He graduated from Zephyrhills High School in 1977 and went on to build a life centered around family, friendship and service to his community.

Dale is survived by his loving wife and partner of 41 years, Tania; his father, Jack (Sylvia); his two sons Kyle (Megan) and Kendall; and his four beloved grandchildren, Talin, Mason, Linley and Gracey. He is also survived by his sister, Peggy (Paul); his brothers, Steve (Theresa) and Mike; his dearest friend, Greg Greco; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will sadly miss him.

Dale proudly dedicated 34 years of service to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Pasco County. During his distinguished career, he was honored as “Detective of the Year” in 2009 and retired as a Sergeant in June 2014.

In retirement, Dale truly lived life to the fullest. Over the past 12 years, he cherished spending time with his family and enjoying the things he loved most. His passion for bowling was legendary among those who knew him, and he also enjoyed golfing, playing cards and cheering on his favorite sports teams from the comfort of home.

Dale’s laughter, loyalty and love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 30th, at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Zephyrhills. Visitation will take place 1:00-3:00 p.m., with the service to follow.
