On Friday, October 4th, 2019, CYRIL ANTHONY "CY" BROWN, husband and father of three children, passed away at the age of 78 in Tampa, Florida.
Cyril was born on February 23rd, 1941 in Montego Bay, Jamaica to Philbert and Olive Brown. He graduated from Cornwall College, one of the premier Rural Schoolboy Football Schools in Jamaica. He was a proud member of the football team and celebrated victory over Kingston College in 1958 winning the Oliver Shield, which is the oldest and most prestigious schoolboy football title.
On August 2nd, 1970 he married Mae Trowell at St Albans Church, Jamaica, New York. They lived in Massapequa, New York where they raised two sons, Sean and Marc, and one daughter, Tanya.
Cyril made his living driving trucks. He drove cement trucks, he drove 18 wheelers cross country, and he drove gas/oil trucks for Getty, Amoco, and BP. After retiring, he spent his time socializing with family and friends, traveling, and caring for his two cats; Joey and Nola.
He is predeceased by his parents; two of his brothers, Valentine Brown and Moulton Brown; one of his sisters, Rita Brown; and his son Marc Brown. Cyril leaves to honor and cherish his loving memory; his wife, Mae Brown; his brother, Ashmore D. Brown; his sister Cynthia Sweetland; his son Sean Brown; his daughter, Tanya Brown; and his granddaughter, Taya Gay.
