Claude "Ermie" Thomas, of Dade City, Florida, passed away on March 31, 2024, at the age of 81. He was born on August 13, 1942, to the late Frank John Thomas and Virginia Parks Thomas in Dade City.
Ermie was a pillar of the community, known for his entrepreneurial spirit and his love for his family and friends. He founded two successful used car dealerships in the area, leaving a lasting impact on the community he called home. When he wasn't busy at work, Ermie found solace in working in his yard, cultivating beauty and tranquility around him.
He is survived and deeply cherished by his son, Wade Thomas (Dianna), his daughter, Shannon Bodi, his Brother, Richard Thomas (Fran), his three grandchildren: Andrew Meadows (Sarah), Jordyn Pritchard (Garrett), and Brooke Thomas, as well as his three great-grandchildren and many wonderful close friends and family.
Ermie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Laurie Crellin Thomas, his mother Virginia Thomas (Orender), his father "FJ" Thomas, and his brother Frank Thomas.
A graveside funeral service will be held on April 21st at Hodges Funeral Home at the Bell Tower at 11 am, where close friends and family will gather to honor and celebrate Ermie's life.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Thomas Promise Foundation, a charity close to Ermie's heart.
Ermie will be remembered for his warm heart, his unwavering generosity, and the legacy of kindness and love he leaves behind.
