Obituary

Christopher David Johnson, 71, passed away on March 11, 2025, in Dade City, Florida. Born on May 2, 1953, in Syracuse, New York, Chris lived a life filled with music, love, and dedication to his family.  Chris graduated from Henninger High School in Syracuse and carried a strong work ethic throughout his life.  He was a man who embraced every moment with passion whether through his career, his music, or the time he spent with those he loved.

A talented musician from the age of eight, Chris was an exceptional drummer who played with many bands over the years.  His deep appreciation for all types of music made him not only a skilled performer but also a cherished companion to fellow musicians.  Jamming with friends brought him immense joy, and his love for music was a defining part of his life.

Beyond, His musical talents, Chris had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and hiking, often sharing these experiences with his grandchildren.  The holidays were especially meaningful to him, times when the entire family could come together and create lasting memories.

Chris is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Johnson; his stepchildren, whom he always considered as his own Eric Armstrong, Michael McLeod Jr, and Jessica Ward, and eight cherished grandchildren Kyle Armstrong, Destiny Armstrong, Kierra Armstrong, Jalynn Mannino, Giuseppe Mannino, Lily Ward, Maximus Ward, and Henry McLeod. He was predeceased by his father, Kristmunder Johnson, and his mother, Patricia Shetler-Notcher.

Chris was known as someone people loved to talk to and spend time with a man who left an impression on everyone he met.  His kindness and unwavering support for those around him made him not just a husband and father figure but also a true friend to many.  His wife Linda fondly remembers how proud she was to call him her husband he was always there for her and their family.

Though Chris will be deeply missed by all who knew him, his memory will live on through the music he played and the love he shared.

He will be taken back home to Henderson Harbor in the summertime for his final rest.
